We Made HERstory, OklaHOMIES 🦋

On June 16th, 2026, we made history.

After 18 months of hard work, community organizing, advocating, mobilizing, and putting countless miles on my car, Team NJT came in as the front runner in Oklahoma's Democratic U.S. Senate primary.

We earned over 76,000 votes and 45.2% of the vote statewide. We beat our nearest opponent by 21 points and nearly doubled their vote total. To put that into perspective, more Oklahomans voted for Team NJT than our next two competitors combined.

But because Oklahoma law requires a candidate to receive more than 50% of the vote to avoid a runoff, we're headed into one more election.

And to be frank? That's okay.

Because what June 16th proved is that the OklaHOMIES are a force to be reckoned with.

When I started this campaign, people told me it was impossible. They told me Oklahoma wasn't ready for someone like me. A nurse. A military spouse. An autism mom. A young woman from Ardmore who didn't have wealthy donors, political connections, or a last name people already knew.

Yet here we are.

And the absolute truth is, my life has never looked like the path people expect a U.S. Senate candidate to take.

I've slept on floors trying to keep a roof over my children's heads. I've balanced nursing school, motherhood, military life, and work all at the same time. I've sat beside my son in hospital rooms, fought for his services as an autism mom, and experienced firsthand what happens when systems fail the very people they're supposed to help. I've worried about daycare costs, bills, deployments, and making sure my family had everything they needed while still chasing my own dreams.

Those experiences didn't break me. They shaped me.

They taught me resilience. They taught me advocacy. They taught me that everyday people deserve leaders who understand their struggles because they've lived them too.

And that's exactly why this campaign has always been different.

We built this campaign the old fashioned way… by showing up.

We traveled all over Oklahoma. We sat in living rooms, attended community events, knocked doors, answered messages, hugged strangers, listened to stories, cried with people, laughed with people, and built real relationships.

This campaign has always been about restoration and healing, with a little bit of sass mixed in. It's been about transparency. It's been about making government feel accessible again. It's been about proving that everyday people deserve a seat at the table too.

And y'all showed up.

One of my opponents raised over $203,000 after entering the race just a few months ago. Meanwhile, Team NJT did this with just shy of $50,000 in grassroots donations.

$0 corporate PACs.

$0 special interests.

$0 big money machine.

Just people who believed in a movement and a humanist from small town Oklahoma.

"They didn't expect me to stay in the game long enough to be successful. They thought I would fold. They thought I would take the bait. They thought I would compromise who I was, what I stood for, or the values this campaign was built on. But I never did. I stayed true to myself. I stood firmly in my convictions. I called out inequities when I saw them, advocated for the people who felt unheard, and then kept it moving. I didn't let the noise distract me from the mission. And I guess 76,000 Oklahomans stood on that same business right alongside me."

I won't lie and say I'm not tired. I am.

The last 18 months have been some of the hardest of my life. I've missed time with my family. I've driven thousands upon thousands of miles. I've spent more nights in hotels and campaign events than I can count.

But I've also had the privilege of meeting some of the most incredible people Oklahoma has to offer.

Y’all reminded me why this fight matters.

You reminded me why healthcare matters.

Why public education matters.

Why fair wages matter.

Why disability rights matter.

Why military families matter.

Why Oklahoma matters.

Most importantly, you reminded me that politics doesn't belong to consultants, insiders, or people with the biggest checkbooks.

It belongs to US, the people.

Now we have one more race to win.

The runoff isn't the end of our story. It's the next chapter.

If you've been waiting for the right time to donate, volunteer, host a meet-and-greet, make phone calls, or help us get across the finish line, this is your moment.

We shocked a lot of people on June 16th.

Now let's finish what we started.

If you'd like to help us win this runoff and continue building a people powered movement, please consider making a contribution:

Donate now to make HERstory!

Whether it's $5, $10, or simply sharing the link with someone who believes in what we're building, every bit helps. We got here because of everyday people, and we're going to win because of everyday people.

With love and gratitude,

-NJT 💙🦋
